Dr. Thomas Haney joined the Christian Care family in January 2023 as the Chaplain of the Phoenix Campus. He has had a long relationship with Christian Care Phoenix. He was an auxiliary board member from 1988-1991 and has led Church services at Fellowship Square and the Skilled Nursing Center since the early 2000s. Dr. Haney grew up in Illinois, served as the Pastor of Walnut Grove Christian Church, and then accepted a call to First Christian Church in Odon, Indiana. He was the founding pastor of “The Creek,” a large mega-church in Indianapolis; served as the Senior Pastor of First Christian Church of Phoenix; and founded Desert Christian Church in Phoenix. He retired from the Senior Ministry in 2018. Dr. Haney has served on national committees for the Christian Church and has been a trustee at Lincoln Christian University and Hope International University. He has served as a missionary, song evangelist, evangelist, and seminar leader and has authored many books and articles in conjunction with his incorporated Teaching Ministry, “Hope Looks Up.” Dr. Haney received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Lincoln Christian College, a Master of Divinity degree from Lincoln Christian Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Christian Theological Seminary. He was ordained to the Pastorate in 1968. He has received several Who’s Who designations: Who’s Who among college students in American Universities and Colleges, Who’s Who in American Religion, and Who’s Who in America. Dr. Haney has always had a heart for Christian Care/Fellowship Square Phoenix and felt the Lord call him out of retirement to be the Chaplain for this wonderful organization. He feels it is his home away from home. Dr. Haney’s favorite quote is: “As long as you can still look up, You still have HOPE!” |
